Nemetschek acquires leading MEP solution provider Data Design System

Munich, November 12, 2013 — Nemetschek AG (ISIN 0006452907) announced today to acquire Data Design System ASA, based in Norway.
The leading CAD software provider for intelligent building planning delivers highly functional solutions for mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), heating, ventilation, air conditioning and photovoltaic engineering. With this move, Nemetschek Group extends its portfolio to include strategic important MEP solutions for the building process.
DDS is member of the Open BIM initiative promoting open standards in the AEC industry. All DDS-CAD solutions support Open BIM planning processes. With the acquisition, Nemetschek’s position in the market for BIM will be strengthened.
DDS has around 90 employees. The company has branches in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. With more than 13,500 customers worldwide, DDS generated approximately EUR 8.7 million in revenues and achieved an operating result of EUR 1.5 million in the fiscal year 2012.
According to the strategic company structure of Nemetschek Group, DDS will continue to conduct business under its current management as an independent brand.
The purchase price is in the low two-digit million euro range and will be settled in cash. The acquisition is expected to be concluded by the end of 2013.
