ARCHICAD 18 Update 6000
ArchiCAD 18 Update 6000 was released today. You can read about all the details and download the update (if your ArchiCAD isn’t set to automatically notify you) here. As always this update applies to ArchiCAD, BIM Server and all other components: BIMx, MEP Modeler and all GRAPHISOFT-distributed Add-Ons and Goodies. Additionally this update (and all future updates and hotfixes) now also pertain to BIMcloud, for those of you using it as well.
While an earlier update was the official OS X 10.10 Yosemite compatibility update, this build has further fixes and improvements for those of us using OS X 10.10. If you have a few spare minutes, read (or skim) the entire list of improvements; it’s always fascinating and educational. Remember to update everyone using Teamwork 2 (including the BIM Server and BIMcloud) at the same time.
Also, as always, if you have a deadline looming or something else critical going on, don’t update ARCHICAD if things are working fine. Hold off until you have time for weirdness to happen. Most people will update ARCHICAD and not run into problems. I can’t think of one time when an update caused me trouble. But sometimes it happens, for some of us. If you can’t risk even a small chance of trouble, wait until after you’ve issued those drawings, sent that model, or done whatever critical thing can’t be interrupted for the hour you might loose if the Update causes you trouble. Again I’m not saying there will be trouble, but the decision to apply the update today, tomorrow, or next week is yours to make.
