Shoegnome Open Template v27 for Archicad 27 and v26.4 for Archicad 26

Last year I updated my previous template one more time before starting on the Archicad 26 template. That worked surprisingly well as I was able to concentrate on general updates and then focus on new features of Archicad. It also highlighted how the first iteration of my template rarely incorporates that many new features—which makes sense. There’s some big changes to be made when migrating to a new version of Archicad. But most of the value is discovered once I’ve been using the version for a few projects/months. My Archicad 27 template doesn’t do anything special with Design Options or the new formatting improvements to Interactive Schedules. That’ll all come later as I use those them on live projects and see what I like.

The Shoegnome Open Template v26.4 for Archicad 26 and the Shoegnome Open Template v27 for Archicad 27 are non-radical improvements to the previous version of my template for Archicad 26. That might all seem underwhelming, but it’s also good news. There’s no reason not to migrate projects from 26 to 27 and start new work in 27 (with the latest version of my template). Once I publish this blog post, I’ll be migrating two projects from 26 to 27 to continue schematic design.
