Imperfect House

The remodel of my own home (we added a little over 1,000 square feet and took everything but the kitchen down to the studs) made me a better architect and more understanding of the stresses my clients deal with. From the street the house still reads as one story but from the backyard the two story tower-like addition dominates. The upper floor of the rear addition is a couple’s suite and the main floor is a sun room with a 10′ NanaWall that opens onto a new deck. The expanded and remodeled lower level has two bedrooms for my daughters plus family room, bathroom, Lego room, and secret passage. A small addition on the front of the house increased the size of the dining room and also created a much needed covered porch.
