Used to be a Raised Ranch

Used to be a Raised Ranch

A long time ago there was a small apple orchard in Maple Leaf. Eventually the family sold the property. The original farm house still stands and much of the remaining land was divided into four big lots. On those lots four roughly identical raised ranches were built in the late 1970s. Over the next forty years small tweaks were made to each house. New decks, new siding, fresh paint… what were once clones became more like fraternal twins. Then my clients hired me. We ripped off the roof of their home, gutted the interior, and added a third story. We also moved the entry and stair into an addition off the side of the house.

The name of the house comes from a classic 99 Percent Invisible Episode: U.T.B.A.P.H. about buildings that used to be a Pizza Hut.
