Connecting the Dots has NEVER been easier (aka churn the rumor mill some more)

By now you’ve probably been told to read the recent AECbytes article Viktor Várkonyi, CEO of Graphisoft, on cloud computing as it relates to the AEC industry. If you haven’t, it’s a good read. Two things caught my eye. At first I thought it was going to be an article by Zolna Murray who writes the DebunkTheBIM. But it’s not; just a coincidental title. Too bad. I was excited that another avid blogger and ArchiCAD user was writing for AECbytes. Writing an article for AECbytes is on my to do list.  Regardless, if you aren’t familiar with Zolna Murray’s blog, you should check it out. It’s a crazy huge task she’s undertaken. Blogging about BIM everyday for a year. It’s a feat. Anyways, back to the article at hand. It’s a nice summary about cloud computing and what the AEC industry should think about. BUT. BUT. BUT. The clear logic and great overview is not the most interesting thing in the article. This sentence is:

“Obviously, a specifically written mobile client app with direct access to the BIM project through an active BIM server in the cloud can offer the best user experience and the highest project intelligence.”

Did you catch that? A specifically written mobile client app…

And now you also remember this call for beta testers, right?

Now there’s no way THAT is just a coincidence. My guess is as good as the rest of you who aren’t under a non-disclosure agreement as to the specifics. But it looks like Graphisoft has something cool in store for us, and I’m looking forward to this Autumn… and some possible future call for beta testers with Android devices. (here that Graphisoft?!) Here’s hoping.
