When I’m building out my template or teaching people Archicad, I encourage wariness over aspirational goals. I tell people to focus on what’s doable today. Build models, produce drawings, communicate design, get permit sets done. Remember your first task when switching to BIM.
While we need to keep our businesses solvent and provide value to our clients today (especially in the early days of using any software program), we also need to dream and chase long term goals to avoid stagnation. There’s really nothing worse than sitting down at your computer thinking welp today is like yesterday. And tomorrow will be exactly like today. That’s where Graphisoft’s Design Intelligence Strategy. It’s a big-picture roadmap divided into four key pillars: Design Intelligence, Open Collaboration, AI Solutions, and BIM. In the following video I break down what each one actually means and how they could impact the work we do.
Thanks to Graphisoft for sponsoring this video. In the video I talk about the Pyramid of BIM Progress. That is originally from this ancient series of blog posts that is foundational to my views on BIM.
