One of my biggest pet peeves with new Archicad users is hearing them use the language of their old software. The previous software used to be Autocad, but increasingly it’s Revit. Revit thus appears as the default, “correct” way to do BIM, while Archicad becomes this other, weirder (or lesser) process. Regressing to Revit terminology though creates confusion and hinders the learning journey. Using Archicad’s actual vocabulary is one of the fastest ways to improve. When you know the right terms, coworkers understand you faster, and your internet searches actually work.
